The ProFractional Experience
Before the treatment, the provider will place a topical anaesthetic ointment on the skin for improved comfort to numb the area being treated.
You should feel minimal to no discomfort as he or she gently places the ProFractional handpiece on the skin. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 30 to 60 minutes, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.
Post-Care
Regardless of the depth of the ProFractional treatment, the post-treatment recovery time should be no more than 8 hours.
It is important to keep the skin consistently moisturized with non-fragranced products for the first 3 days to allow skin to remain soft and pliable.
24 hours later, the skin may feel slightly swollen and/or itchy. This should resolve within 3 to 5 days.
Patients can apply makeup after 24 hours, but should avoid the sun for 4 weeks after treatment.
